Providence Maitreya Buddha Missionary Institute

Posted: October 31st, 2011

The founder of the World Maitreya Great Tao Organization was the late President Wang, who had dedicated his life to the education of truth, morality, and conscience. In 1987, he established the Providence Maitreya Buddha Missionary Institute (PMBMI) in the Hsin-Chu city of Taiwan, next to the Hsin-Chu Science Park. The purpose was to train qualified people to help start on the holy mission of saving the world through conscience education.

To express gratitude to Laomu, our Heavenly Mother for the descent of Tao, and to Maitreya Buddha for His blessings, the Institute encourages Maitreya followers to recognize and appreciate the grace of Heaven and the virtues of Master Father and Mother by following their conscience and practice compassionate deeds. They are encouraged to awaken others with their conscience so that eventually everyone would follow the conscience way. This is truly assisting Maitreya Buddha with his noble vow of saving the world from chaos and creating a world of harmony.

Under the leadership of the late President Wang, “Truth Research Classes” were conducted every year at the Institute. To date, the Institute has trained tens of thousands outstanding individuals from around the world. At the same time, training courses and study camps have been held in temples worldwide. After years of arduous work, the development of Maitreya Great Tao has spread to over 60 countries.

In order to serve the communities and to respond to the spiritual reform advocated by the Taiwan government, starting in 1996, the late President Wang had been organizing a group of volunteers from PMBMI to visit nearly a thousand primary and secondary schools to promote “The Tao of Conscience.” In 1999, the first large non-profit performing arts event, “The Festival of Conscience Brilliance,” was held in Taiwan to promote living a life of family devotion, gratitude and happiness. Since then, more than 50 events had been similarly held around different counties and cities in Taiwan. These meaningful events which educated and gave social care to the communities had yearly received public recognition and awards from the Taiwan government.

In 2000, the Institute was moved to the current location in O-Mei Township, Hsin-Chu. The planning for the construction work of the Nature Loving Wonderland and the World Maitreya Great Tao Organization had also begun. Based on the concept of a universal family, the main building of Maitreya Great Tao aimed to integrate Eastern and Western aesthetics in architecture, combined with environmentally friendly designs. After eleven year of painstaking construction work and fundraising from Taiwan and overseas, the Nature Loving Wonderland can finally be clearly seen beside the beautiful O-Mei Lake. The new era of conscience salvation has begun!

After the construction phase has come a completion, the Institute will continue to focus on training more volunteers from home and abroad, especially Maitreya followers who are aspired to serve others altruistically and have a deep love for nature. After the training, they will be able to contribute to the world with their greatest strengths. They will be able to follow Maitreya Buddha in his compassionate ways to benefit all humanity and create a world of harmony, a universal family!
